Recognize chiropractic and protect the title chiropractor
Currently In The Netherlands, anyone is allowed to call him-/herself a chiropractor; requirements only apply once someone is registered in a professional register. Legal recognition and title protection for chiropractors would prevent inadequately educated and unauthorized practice, would increase patient safety and transparency, and promote collaboration with other healthcare providers.

We
chiropractors, patients, healthcare providers, and all others who support the importance of this petition,
establish that:
- chiropractic meets the criteria for legal recognition under the Individual Healthcare Professions Act (BIG Act).
- chiropractic education consists of a five-year, full-time academic program at internationally recognized institutions (WHO and ECCE standards).
- chiropractors provide high-quality, person-centered care that is effective, safe, preventive, and evidence-based.
- unauthorized care providers call themselves chiropractors, thereby damaging the profession.
and request
- legal recognition of chiropractic as a musculoskeletal healthcare profession under the BIG Act.
- protection of the title 'chiropractor' based on education, quality, and safety.
- equal legal and policy status with other recognized primary healthcare professions.
